” The first time I experimented with painting was at the age of 10. Before that there were crayons, texta and coloured pencils. I was not so sure of using a brush to express my ideas…. it seemed to clumsy, but I loved the colour mixing and richness of the oil paint.”
Carol continued to use oil paints and painted at home on weekends, trying to refine the art. High school brought a new medium to try… acrylics. Carol loved this medium, as the drying process was so much quicker and she could add detail at a much faster rate than with oils.
Once again the marine and fantasy themes are seen in her work and seascapes of the area that she lives in are painted many times. She enjoys using very large and small canvases as both have their challenges.
