” Art is not an occupation for me, it is my life. There are not many moments in my day when I am not inspired by something to do with art. It challenges me and is thrilling”
Carol Citheroe has a great passion for the ocean, its creatures, beaches and the environment. She has always been fascinated by the human form and paints and sculpts it in many forms. There is a strong mythological theme in her work as she grew up with many stories of folklore. She is also very concerned for the environmental issues for our world and this is reflected in Carol’s work, which includes murals, painting, mosaics and sculpture. Carol loves to use a recycled component in her sculptures, such as recycled copper wire and and enjoys entering the Castaways sculptural competition each year.
Carol has a successful art practice, Neverending Designs which has been operating for over 23 years. She has painted over 200 murals for commercial and private clients. In the last 12 years Carol has had works exhibited in nineteen art exhibitions including 14 joint exhibitions and three solo.
She has enjoyed working in public art programs which has included sculptures and murals, school workshops involving banners, bus shelters and sculptures made from recycled materials.
Carol facilitates art workshops for people in rehabilitation programs and people with disabilities. She enjoys working with groups of people and is involved with Mandurah’s Stretch Festival, Rockingham’s Castaways recycled workshops and Fremantle Art Blast.
